Eastwood park autumnal wedding

When Megan and Dave chose us to be their photographers for their Eastwood Park autumnal wedding, we knew it would be one to remember and full of personality and fun. We weren’t wrong! This lovely pair met through a modern day romance of internet dating. They connected at first with their shared love of football followed by their love for each other which led to this gorgeous wedding.

The lush autumnal colours of Eastwood Park in South Gloucestershire provided a stunning backdrop to their day of adventure with gorgeous sunbeams making an appearance during our afternoon walk around the grounds. Being the recommended photographers and videographers at Eastwood park means we are lucky enough to work there many times a year and the venue has no shortage of wonderful and unique places to photograph.

The impressive building lends itself well to entertaining and making a grand entrance, with the outdoor space the perfect choice for glorious views, lush landscapes and magical shots by the clock tower at night. With it’s 70 en-suite bedrooms and lux Bridal suite, your whole wedding party can stay overnight so you can really go to town with the celebrations. After all, weddings are really about family and friends coming together to celebrate the two of you and your commitment to each other. Our job is to capture the memories in a relaxed and creative way so you can sit back and re-live the day forever. Think of us two extra pairs of hands on the day, blending in the the background and organising those key shots when needed so you don’t have to worry about a thing.

Jodie and Tracey were amazing from start to finish, first meeting them at a wedding fayre in 2019 I just knew I wanted them to photograph our day! They have so much knowledge around Eastwood park and made it so easy to get pictures at the right time. All our family and friends said how organised they were getting group pictures, they made myself and my husband so relaxed and it was such a pleasure having them share our day with us. The final pictures…wow, they capture myself and my husband in a way we love, so natural and so perfect. They really are two of the nicest people, and amazing photographers 100% would recommend to anyone”.

Mrs Megan Neath xx

Creative bride Meg made lots of the decor and finishing touches herself including the giant “window” seating plan which was pretty epic. Megan swears by her “cricut” machine and says it was one one her best purchases for all of her DIY wedding projects. She also made the Polaroid wall, name cards and confetti cone holder. This was a great way for guests to collect their gorgeous bio-degradable petals after the ceremony ready for that special first moment being presented as a married couple. The confetti shot is one of our favourite moments, those big smiles, guest cheers and pretty confetti blowing in the breeze.

We always love to spend some time exploring the grounds after canapés, guests congratulations and any family shots. There really are so many places at Eastwood park to take in, it’s basically a photographers dream! This is perfect time to capture some gorgeous images without an audience, especially if, like our groom Dave, you weren’t looking forward to a photoshoot. We have a knack of putting people at ease to ensure the images are relaxed and natural with a bit of gentle direction. We encourage you to do your own thing, just enjoy the first real moments of being alone as a married couple and we’ll happily snap away in the background allowing your true personality to shine through.

You might be reading this blog excited for your own big day, so we asked Meg who had lived though the planning and postponements due to Covid and ultimately the wedding day herself for any advice she would give a future couple:

“Don’t worry about every detail on the day as it just goes so fast and your guests won’t even notice! Also, take 5 mins of every hour to connect with your new partner and spend some time with them as well as your family and friends. Lastly, in the run up to the wedding, get organised with a spreadsheet or 2 and set yourself some deadlines so everything is not left until the last moment and you can really enjoy the build-up”.

Bride Megan’s Top Tips

After the delicious 3 course meal and heartfelt speeches, we headed to the bridal suite for a make up touch up (this pampering bonus is included in our full day package), so Meg was feeling refreshed and ready to meet her evening guests.

The day was full of love, laughter and beautiful raw emotion. The evening flowed seamlessly with chatter, guest antics and lots of dancing. With over 400 final edited photos it was tricky to pick a selection of images to tell the story of their day. We couldn’t leave without a visit to the iconic clock tower for some dramatic veil shots with creative flash lighting using a pink gel. It’s definitely one for the wall. Stunning!
